Summary
Our programme offers a blended approach towards study, with your time spent either learning online or in our award-winning health facilities on campus.
Learning methods include workshops, discussions, group work and lead lectures – enabling you to play an active part in your learning. Plus, you’ll be further supported by our virtual learning environment.
Our core modules will give you a solid foundation in all aspects of the role including practice; establishing effective working relationships; evidence-based practice; leadership; creating an environment for learning; facilitation of learning; assessment and accountability and evaluation of learning.
You’ll also have the opportunity to explore an educational issue within your own sphere of practice as part of a work-based module.
Students on this course will usually have prior experience as a mentor or assessor, as well as evidence of academic study within the past five years. However, all applications will be considered on individual merit.

| Entry requirements | Typically you are expected to have a good Honours degree (2:2) in nursing, midwifery or another relevant discipline, plus appropriate experience in a professional environment. In order to ensure our students have a rich learning and student experience, most of our programmes have a mix of domestic and international students. We reserve the right to close applications early to either group, if application volumes suggest that this blend cannot be achieved. In addition, existing undergraduate students at the University of Hull have a guaranteed ‘Fast Track’ route to any postgraduate programme, subject to meeting the entry criteria (excluding Social Work). |
