In December 2024, the University of Bolton was granted permission by the Office for Students (OfS) to change its name to the University of Greater Manchester with immediate effect. While we work to update our systems, you may see both names used in the information we provide.
The MRes Islamic Economics and Finance degree is a multidisciplinary research training programme with a specialised focus on educational leadership and change. Combining rigorous training in advanced research skills with personalised research projects that build deep subject knowledge in Islamic economics and finance, this exciting postgraduate programme is designed to inspire your imagination, foster your creativity and support you in becoming an exemplary leader.
This University of Greater Manchester's Masters by Research (MRes) in Islamic Economics and Finance is a multidisciplinary research training programme designed to be truly novel and sui generis. It is designed to inspire the imagination and foster creativity while providing rigorous training in advanced research skills and deep subject knowledge.
The programme is delivered through a staged and flexible approach, enabling you to develop research skills in preparation for a PhD or Professional Doctorate. You will have opportunities to undertake applied research projects involving knowledge exchange.

The MRes programme will provide a common foundation for PhD or Professional Doctorate programmes with an interim award available following the gaining of 60 credits (PgCert), and an exit award of the 180 credit MRes.
