Summary

Within the rapidly evolving, expanding and thriving global construction industries, the role of Construction Project Managers (CPM) is in high demand. The responsibilities of a Construction Project Manager (CPM) range from logistically leading / managing projects including risks through the project life-cycle to building completion and beyond. Being able to negotiate challenges, and issues such as environment, sustainability, resource, and material procurement shortfalls are integral to the role.

If you are a graduate in or with previous construction-related employment or you’re seeking a senior project management position within the industry, this is the course for you. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the specific issues and complexities that are part of construction project management. You’ll develop the skills needed to find solutions that meet the client’s requirements and expectations, whilst evaluating the environmental impact, time, and budget in the most efficient way.

You will explore digital construction, technical skills, construction methodologies, and organisational procedures. This will allow you to gain insight into the holistic leadership and management of all aspects of construction project lifecycles. You will also explore lean thinking and active decision-making in order to successfully drive and manage projects.

This MSc in Construction Project Management is part of our suite of Architecture, Construction and Built Environment courses. You will be studying with peers from other subjects such as Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture, working collaboratively as multidisciplinary teams, to produce a complex project proposal based on a real-world scenario.

You will gain an understanding of the social, economic and environmental issues commonly affecting construction problems and methods to resolve them and explore project management tools, techniques and software including BIM, Revit and AutoCAD.
