Summary
The MA in Applied Theatre is a hands-on, practice-based course that looks at how performance can be used to create positive social change. If you want to use theatre to help people, educate, or make a difference in society, this course at UEL gives you the skills to do it.
This course is for people who believe theatre can help tackle issues like racism, gender inequality, poverty, migration, health, and the environment.
What you'll do:
Learn how to use theatre in different communities and settings, not just on stage. Work on real-life projects that make a difference. Take part in workshops with experts. Plan, run, and test your own projects. Understand the social and political impact of your work. By the end of our Applied Theatre master’s programme course, you'll be able to work with different communities to create change through theatre. You’ll also explore your role as a cultural worker, helping to connect people with institutions.
Taught in the evenings, our Applied Theatre master’s programme is a one-year postgraduate degree with an MFA in Applied Theatre as a second-year option, with more of a focus on creative practice.
