We have proven research expertise across: Older people and long term conditions; Improving access to healthcare; Community and family health; Addiction; Cancer studies, Cardiology, Clinical science and trials; Diabetes, Epidemiology; Gastroenterology and gut biology; Health economics; Health services research; Medical microbiology; Nutrition; Psychological sciences and Respiratory Medicine.

The degrees are based on the candidate's own original research which is carried out under the direction of one or more supervisors. The research environment is also enhanced by regular research seminars, often with invited national or international speakers, as well as interdisciplinary workshops and conferences.
