Summary
Our intensive one-year MSc Management with a specialism in Leadership, Strategy and Change is designed for ambitious graduates from any academic background. No prior experience in business or management is required, just a curiosity for how organisations work and a drive to lead positive change.
This programme is ideal for students who aspire to leadership and management-level roles across a wide range of industries and sectors.
You will begin with a solid foundation in core management principles before diving deeper into leadership, strategy, and change. Through this focused pathway, you will explore how leaders drive strategic transformation in today’s complex and fast-changing organisational environments.
You will study with a diverse international cohort, bringing together a wide range of perspectives and experiences, and enriching your global outlook on management.
You will gain a critical and practical understanding of how to lead effectively in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous contexts. Topics include strategic leadership, managing change, and addressing contemporary leadership challenges such as sustainability, diversity and inclusion, ethical decision-making, and leading remote and hybrid teams.
We will help you become a confident, analytical and reflective thinker, ready to tackle real-world leadership challenges. You will engage with real-life case studies and practical tools, applying theory in classroom discussions, group projects and presentations. This hands-on learning approach equips you with the communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills expected in today’s dynamic workplaces.
This programme will help you to:
-
Apply management techniques drawn from a range of disciplines such as marketing, operations, organisational behaviour, strategy, finance, and accounting to management in organisations.
-
Understand the nature of management, the complexity of organisations and management’s role and responsibility in addressing societal and global challenges.
-
Reflect upon the wider challenges that organisations face and critically engage with ethical and sustainability issues as they arise.
-
Prepare for a career in management and leadership roles in your chosen industry with expert knowledge in your specialist subject.
Graduates from this programme will benefit from studying at a top 10 UK university (QS World University Rankings 2026). You will be taught by leading academics whose research tackles the global societal issues facing modern management. A large percentage of our business and management research is rated as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent' (REF 2021), reflecting its impact on shaping policy and practice.
Teaching for this postgraduate programme will be delivered at our new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, opening 2026. Here, enhanced links with industry and collaborative learning spaces will provide students with real-world knowledge, networks and skills to succeed once you graduate. Depending on your choice of optional units, you may also be taught on the Clifton Campus.
