Summary
This three-year, part-time and one year, full-time programme is for dental practitioners who want to improve their skills within the discipline of implant dentistry. This course provides exemplary one to one supervision alongside theoretical teaching to support you on your journey to become confident planning, placing and restoring dental implants.
This curriculum matches the purpose-designed Dental School located in Bristol city centre. Here, you will start at the beginning, covering the basics of implant surgery science, surgical planning and restoration with hands-on practical and simulation exercises to support your learning.
Alongside theoretical and hands on teaching; you will be treating you own implant cases. This clinical experience will take you through every stage of implant treatment, from restoratively driven planning, to implant placement, and finally implant restoration. Both analogue (traditional) and digital pathways are taught to provide you with a comprehensive and adaptable clinical skill set.
You will also have the opportunity to complete a dissertation on the topic of your choosing, giving you the credits to exit the course with an MSc.
We aim to produce caring, knowledgeable and skillful practitioners who are competent in the provision of the planning, surgical, restorative and maintenance aspects of dental implant treatment, within the limits of the individual clinician. Access outstanding resources through the Clinical Skills Suite at our School and the Vesalius Clinical Training Unit.
Bench fees are charged for this programme (detailed below) and are to cover clinical costs, such as sourcing a patient for students to work on, materials for practical sessions and clinical supervised environment
