Our Ceramics course thrives in the heart of a town with World Craft Town status, with UCA Farnham also home to the esteemed Craft Study Centre. Guided by world-leading practitioners and frequently hosting guest speakers from the ceramics industry, our MA/MFA Ceramics degree course offers you unmatched insights and extensive networking opportunities.

Our team of highly qualified technicians possesses expertise spanning traditional ceramics techniques, including throwing, plaster work, and mould making, as well as cutting-edge technologies such as ceramic 3D printing and emerging techniques. Applicants can apply to undertake the full MFA, or undertake an MA and transfer to the MFA at the end of the MA period.

Be inspired and create extraordinary ceramic pieces on UCA's MA Ceramics course, based in the World Craft Town of Farnham.
On this project-led and studio-based course, you'll have the opportunity to create a range of objects, experiment with different materials and processes, delve into your research interests and develop your individual style.
The course supports a wide range of ceramic techniques, including historical, traditional and contemporary practices, and encourages innovation in ceramics design and technology.
We'll guide you in maximising your talent and creative ability, further developing your skills for future engagement with the arts, crafts and design industries.
This course benefits from a cohort of expert staff that includes the nationally and internationally acclaimed ceramicist Professor Magdalene Odundo OBE, Professor Simon Olding (Director of our Crafts Study Centre) and Nicholas Lees, as well as a number of visiting artists such as Steve Brown and Clare Twomey.
Our Farnham campus boasts first-rate facilities, with extensive workshops and equipment to support your studies. It's also home to our Crafts Study Centre - a purpose-built museum, research centre and gallery dedicated to crafts. The Crafts Study Centre possesses the world's most coherent collection of Leach pottery and a stunning collection of work by Lucie Rie, as well as pieces by contemporary makers such as Edmund de Waal.
