  • College of Arts and Law Masters Scholarship – available for all subject areas, covering taught and research Masters programmes
  • Edna Pearson – available for programmes in the Department of History
  • Harding International Legal Award – available for LLM programmes
  • Music Masters Scholarships – available for MA Music programmes
  • The Islam Scholarship – available for MA Islamic Studies
  • The Amphlett Scholarship – available for MA programmes in the Department of Theology and Religion
  • The William Paton Scholarship – available for MA programmes in the Department of Theology and Religion


Applications for University of Birmingham College of Arts and Law Masters Scholarships close at 4pm GMT on Wednesday 26th March 2025.

  • Carr-Smith Scholarship – available for PhD programmes in Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology
  • Music Doctoral Scholarships – available for PhD programmes in Music
  • Sir Henry Thomas Scholarship for Postgraduate Study in Hispanic Studies -for PhD Hispanic Studies only
  • Stanley Ray Scholarship – for PhD and MA by Research programmes in all our subject areas except Law


To apply for a research scholarship, you’ll need to apply to the Midlands4Cities doctoral training partnership scheme. The deadline is 12pm GMT on Monday 13th January 2025.
