University of Aberdeen’s MSc International Relations now available to study online
University of Aberdeen is now offering its MSc International Relations as an online masters degree.
In today’s interconnected world, understanding global challenges, power structures and the evolving nature of international politics is more important than ever. The University of Aberdeen is pleased to announce the launch of its fully online MSc International Relations. This flexible, fully online programme offers the same rigorous curriculum and expert faculty as its on-campus counterpart.
The University of Aberdeen’s online MSc in International Relations is also available to study via its innovative short course route. This pathway allows students to build their qualification online, one short course at a time. There are no upfront degree fees, as students pay for courses term by term, spreading the cost for a more affordable masters degree.
The short course route also provides an alternative entry route to the MSc for those who may not meet the degree’s formal entry requirements, as well as a flexible pathway for those not ready to commit to a full degree.
The MSc in International Relations has been designed to prepare graduates or professionals for successful careers in international organisations, NGOs, government, policy analysis or academia, including those seeking a career change into international relations from other subject areas or professions. Students will graduate with enhanced expertise in key global issues, including security, global governance, political economy and human rights.
Dr Philippe Beauregard, Coordinator for the online MSc in International Relations, explains, “This degree provides students with a deep understanding of the forces shaping global politics today.” He continues, “Graduates will leave equipped not only with theoretical insight, but also with the analytical and research skills that are highly valued in careers across diplomacy, international development, public advocacy and multinational organisations.”
The flexible online MSc in International Relations can be tailored to students’ interests, current work, professional experience and future career goals. To earn their MSc, students will work through four 30-credit courses, including three of their choosing, as well as writing a dissertation. The masters degree can be studied full time over 12 months or part time over 24 months, with start dates in September and January. Assessment is fully online with no in-person exams.
