University of Aberdeen Law School success recognised by Scottish Parliament
The University of Aberdeen Law School has achieved the top ranking for student satisfaction, ranking 1st across Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland in the National Student Survey 2025.
The NSS gathers feedback from students across the UK, measuring key aspects of the student experience such as the quality of teaching, academic support, and how well courses prepare students for future careers. Aberdeen’s Law School secured first place in the devolved nations, reflecting its dedication to outstanding teaching, student support, and career readiness.
The Law School has also been ranked in the top 15 across both the Times and Sunday Good Times University Guide 2026 and the Guardian University Guide 2026.
The School’s success has been recognised in the Scottish Parliament, where Liam Kerr MSP submitted a motion congratulating the Law School on its remarkable achievement. The motion was endorsed by 33 Members of the Scottish Parliament, underscoring the School’s contribution to higher education excellence in Scotland.
Law has been at the heart of the University of Aberdeen since its founding in 1495. Today, the Law School offers an extensive portfolio of programmes, including International Law, Intellectual Property, Criminal Justice and Human Rights, and Energy Law. Students can choose between a traditional dissertation route or a Professional Skills pathway – an intensive, three-week summer programme designed to develop practical, industry-focused competencies.
With a strong commitment to employability, 93.8% of Aberdeen Law graduates are in employment or further study within 15 months of graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2025).
