Liverpool launches two new scholarships for UK music masters students
The Department of Music at the University of Liverpool is delighted to announce the launch of new scholarships for UK students on two of its masters degrees.
Eligible students will automatically be considered for these great funding opportunities upon application for the masters degrees, so no separate scholarship application is required.
The Martha Vidor Scholarship for Composition is one full tuition fee waiver per year available on the MRes Music – it has been created to fund talented UK composers.
The Martha Vidor Scholarship for Music and Audiovisual Media offers £5,000 off the UK tuition fee for the MA Music and Audiovisual Media – applicants to both the Academic and Practical pathways will be considered.
Speaking about these two new funding opportunities, Liverpool’s Head of Music, Professor Lisa Colton, says, “The new Martha Vidor scholarships enable us to attract talented postgraduate composers of acoustic and electronic music, as well as composers and researchers of music for film, audiovisual media and gaming.”
She continues, “We expect students to benefit from specialist tuition and Music's outstanding facilities and research infrastructure, and we anticipate that they will contribute actively to our creative community and concert life.”
These scholarships are the latest addition to a suite of prizes in the Department of Music, which also includes the Rushworth Scholarship for MA Music Management and the Sarah Barrow Bursary for MMus Music Performance and Education.
