Birmingham announces £5,000 scholarship for MA courses in Heritage, History and Cultures
Discover MA courses in International Heritage Management, History, Classics and Africa and Development in the School of History and Cultures at the University of Birmingham. To help you make the most of your studies, they’re offering a £5,000 scholarship for MA degrees in the School.
The Fran D'Alcorn Scholarship is funded from a bequest by the late Fran D'Alcorn and offers a prestigious £5,000 scholarship to a student commencing a full-time campus masters degree at the School of History and Cultures in September 2025.
To celebrate the significant work of the International Centre for Heritage (ICH), candidates applying to study the MA in International Heritage Management are especially encouraged to apply.
Eligibility criteria
The award is open to UK and international students who have applied for the full-time campus MA in International Heritage Management for September 2025 entry.
Students who have applied for an alternative full-time campus masters course in the School of History and Cultures will also be considered, especially if they can demonstrate their experience or interest in cultural heritage.
Other MA courses in the School of History and Cultures:
- MA in History
- MA in History and Politics
- MA in Antiquity (Classics and Ancient History)
- MA in Africa and Development
Decisions will be made on merit based on the funding application form and on your application to study a masters degree.
Once you’ve submitted a course application, you’ll need to complete the simple online funding application.
