Who we are
For more than 100 years, University of Staffordshire has been at the cutting edge of industries, driving innovation and shaping what comes next. A leading modern university built for the changing way we learn, work and live.
Home to a global network of more than 20,000 students, we are spread across three campuses. Our main campus is in Stoke-on-Trent, known as the world capital of ceramics. Located in the heart of England, it has excellent transport links and is one of the UK’s 10 most affordable cities for student accommodation (StudentCrowd survey, 2023).
We also have a healthcare education campus in nearby Stafford and a London campus which is based at one of Europe’s largest tech and innovation hubs.
Graduate quote:
“The MSc itself was brilliant. I delved into areas of cyber security that I wouldn't have otherwise explored. I learnt a lot during the course I really liked the practical nature of the course.”
Matthew Jones, MSc Cyber Security

Facilities and accommodation
Facilities:
To help prepare students for their future career, we get them to put their skills into action in real-world and simulated environments. You could be presenting cases in our mock courtrooms, analysing crime scenes, interviewing clients or treating patients on our hospital wards.
You’ll have access to all the latest tech as well. As an engineer, for instance, you could be working with our collaborative robot to understand how technology is transforming everyday tasks. Or in psychology, you could be using eye-tracking software and our pain lab to measure physiological responses.
Accommodation:
You could be one of the first residents of our stylish new Student Village – opening in September 2026. You’ll be living at the heart of our Stoke-on-Trent campus, close to all the social spots and cafes and with 24/7 safety.
Our Village Hub is designed for whatever you need: solo study, group catch-ups, creative events or simply downtime with friends. With its rooftop terrace, you’ll also have stunning views across our nature reserve. It’s your ready-made student community.
Student life
Our Stoke-on-Trent campus is within walking distance of the city centre’s shops and restaurants. It is also close to the brand new £60m Goods Yard, which is due to feature cafes, entertainment spaces and a food hall with a stunning vaulted ceiling.
The city centre has a cultural quarter with galleries, theatres and live music venues. North Staffordshire is also home to top thrill-seeking attraction Alton Towers Resort, which is less than an hour’s drive from the campus. And if you’re a fan of outdoor pursuits, walking or cycling, you can explore the beautiful Staffordshire Peak District.
