City St George’s School of Communication & Creativity is a socially engaged and politically conscious centre of educational excellence and world-changing interdisciplinary research which shapes and influences professional practice.
The School brings together our renowned Department of Journalism, the industry-focused Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries, and the Department of Performing Arts, which includes Urdang - one of the UK’s finest performing arts specialists in musical theatre and dance.
We support and develop the next generation of practitioners and entrepreneurs who work across the Performing Arts (Musical Theatre, Dance and Music) and Communications (Media, Publishing, Creative Writing, Marketing and PR and Journalism) industries, as well as the cultural, creative and heritage sectors. We are deeply committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and we are working to transform these sectors by educating and empowering students from underrepresented backgrounds and supporting them to excel.
The School boasts sector-leading facilities. Our Journalism and Media facilities include: TV studios, greenrooms, radio and podcasting booths, editing suites, newsrooms, all developed in consultation with industry experts such as the BBC and ITN. For Performing Arts, we have specialist music studio spaces fitted with the latest industry-standard equipment and dance studios and dedicated performance spaces.
As a result, our students gain unrivalled experience of real-world workplaces, developing practical skills which enhance their employability after graduation. Our graduates have the skills and vision to transform their industries and change the world.
