MA Choreography
Our MA Choreography is a specialised postgraduate course for movement artists ready to push creative boundaries, find their artistic voice, and explore new possibilities within the professional dance industry. Available in Essex, this intensive course combines creative freedom with rigorous technical training, enabling you to develop your unique choreographic vision through extensive practice and research.
Working in spectacular performance spaces with mentorship from leading choreographers, you’ll master technical choreography skills whilst developing genre awareness and exploring digital tools and contemporary performance techniques. The programme emphasises cross-disciplinary collaboration to enhance artistic innovation, bringing together dancers, musicians, visual artists, and technologists to create groundbreaking work.
MA Professional Performance

MA Professional Performance is built for emerging performers looking to refine their craft through immersive, vocational training. You’ll choose your specialism and study at the dedicated Performers College campus:

MA Theatre Directing
Our MA Theatre Directing course is perfect for aspiring directors ready to refine their artistic voice, explore innovative storytelling methods, and gain hands-on industry experience. This comprehensive course combines rigorous practical training with cutting-edge theoretical exploration, enabling you to develop your unique directing style across diverse theatrical genres.
Working in state-of-the-art performance spaces, you’ll collaborate with professional actors, designers, and technicians in industry-standard environments. From our Birmingham campus, you’ll receive mentorship from accomplished directors whilst exploring emerging technologies in performance and staging, pitching and funding strategies, and developing creative leadership skills through research-led directing practice.
Practical experience is central to your development, with opportunities to direct projects presented to public, private, and industry audiences. These showcases allow you to build your professional portfolio whilst receiving valuable feedback from established theatre professionals. You’ll work across multiple performance mediums from traditional stages to digital and immersive performance spaces.
MA Business for the Creative Industries
Our MA Business for the Creative Industries programme provides an in-depth exploration of the commercial aspects of the creative sectors. This innovative course prepares graduates for leadership roles in a range of creative organisations, from theatre companies to production houses and beyond.
Available in Brighton, students on this course come from a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds – from creatives seeking formal business qualifications to business graduates transitioning into the arts. We also welcome plenty of international students who are drawn to these vibrant creative cities.
The course provides students with key skills in creative entrepreneurship, strategic planning, financial management, and marketing within an artistic setting, ensuring they're well-equipped to navigate the business challenges specific to creative enterprises.
MA Learning & Teaching in the Creative Industries
Our MA Learning & Teaching in the Creative Industries course provides a comprehensive exploration of innovative educational practices within the creative sectors. This flexible course prepares graduates for teaching and leadership roles across further and higher education institutions, equipping them with the expertise needed to shape the next generation of creative professionals.
Available in Brighton, the course welcomes both aspiring educators taking their first steps into teaching and experienced practitioners looking to deepen their pedagogical knowledge. Students choose between two pathways: the Initial Teacher Education route for early-career teachers, including QTLS qualification requirements, and the Experienced Educator pathway for qualified teachers seeking to expand their theoretical understanding and leadership capabilities.
Students develop essential skills in creative pedagogy, assessment and feedback, learning theory, inclusive education practices, and educational research methodologies. The programme's person-centred approach combines expert tuition, mentoring, and practical workshops, ensuring graduates emerge as thoughtful, collaborative educators ready to innovate within creative arts education.
World-Class Facilities
Our postgraduate students benefit from state-of-the-art facilities designed specifically for performing arts and creative business education. Each campus boasts professional-standard studios, performance spaces, dedicated postgraduate study areas, and Mac labs kitted out with cutting-edge software.
At our Essex campus, MA Performing Arts students have access to 25 acting, dance and singing studios, all with Harlequin sprung flooring, ballet barres, and advanced sound systems. Manchester's iconic Dancehouse offers five spacious studios with full-height wall mirrors and an impressive 400-seat theatre, while our Brighton campus features contemporary learning spaces perfect for our MA Business for the Creative Industries, and MA Learning & Teaching in the Creative Industries students.
