MSc
Summary
We see, hear and use thousands of explosives around the world every day, from the military and defence sector to mining and other industrial operations. This means the requirement for expertise in explosives and their engineering is crucial. The Explosives Ordnance Engineering MSc will teach you the necessary understanding behind explosives engineering, munitions and target response and look to the future in explosives development. This course allows you to take several elective modules to suit your career path. The choice can be made to focus on the likes of commercial explosives, safety or rocket propulsion. It becomes critical for those in careers in civilian and non-civilian roles which use, handle or engineer explosives or explosive materials. The course provides the advanced academic background necessary for students to contribute effectively to technically demanding projects in the field of explosives and explosives ordnance engineering (EOE).
| Level | RQF Level 7 |
|---|---|
| Entry requirements | We welcome applications from talented individuals of all backgrounds and each application is considered on its individual merit. Usually applicants must hold: A UK lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree with honours, as a minimum, or equivalent international qualification. Ideally applicants will have studied in a science or engineering related subject. Find information about equivalent qualifications in your country on our International entry requirements page. If you do not meet the above entry requirements but still feel you can demonstrate the ability to complete the course successfully, you may still be accepted onto a course with a lower qualification and relevant experience. Ideally your experience will be in a science or engineering related role. Exceptional applicants may be accepted on experience alone. ATAS clearance ATAS is run by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and applies to international students, except exempt nationalities, who need a visa to study in the UK. Further information can be found in our Application guide. Security clearance for Shrivenham All applicants to courses that are wholly or partially delivered at Shrivenham must hold suitable clearance.
