Policies can have significant effects on society, demonstrating the need to be equipped on how to critically appraise and engage with them. This course aims to provide you with the theoretical knowledge of policy making and stakeholders, and the ability to design and implement policy in the real world.

As our global society becomes ever more interconnected and complex, it is becoming increasingly important to understand how our lives and the lives of others are shaped by the forces of local, national and international organisations, institutions and governments.

The policies they produce and actions they take can have huge consequences on our societies and as such, it is vital that we are equipped to not only understand these forces but be able to critically appraise and engage with them.

The MSc Policy and Global Affairs is designed to equip you with both the fundamental theoretical knowledge around the key stakeholders in policy making, and also give you the skills necessary to design and implement these policies in the real world.

The programme is designed to offer students a broad suite of academic areas to focus on, ranging from the economic aspects of policy, to the role power dynamics in policy creation and the function of media in activist campaigns.

This course is for students wishing to advance their knowledge in key areas of policy making as well as develop further understanding of how policy is generated and implemented at both a local and global level.
