The MA Journalism (Arts and Lifestyle) is a specialist pathway for those looking to pursue a career covering arts, culture and lifestyle.
We are excited to offer this degree specialism within the MA Journalism – meaning you will be taught the core content from the MA Journalism programme with the opportunity to complete two specialist modules relevant to your interests. These include pitching, reviewing, interviewing, profiling and commentary in the fields of cinema, theatre, music (pop and classical), books and contemporary cultural issues. You will also cover a wide range of lifestyle subjects such as food, travel, fashion, well-being and real life.
The MA Journalism (Arts and Lifestyle) equips you with the full range of multimedia production skills across print, digital, audio and video. As well as core journalism skills such as news reporting and interviewing, we’ll teach you the fundamentals of audience engagement and developing social media strategies, so you can make sure your stories are seen.

Who is this for?
This professional/practice master’s enables you either to start a career in journalism, or to undertake continuing professional development. It is suitable for those who have the required academic qualifications, but without any prior experience in journalism. It is also suitable for those with journalistic experience, but who may not have the academic qualifications normally required.
It appeals to those looking for entry level jobs, those seeking a career as a freelancer or students who are looking to launch their own start-up in the media sector.
The course is offered full and part-time, making it ideal for those with existing family or career commitments.
