The MA Music for Film, Media and Games postgraduate course offers aspiring composers and sound designers the opportunity to develop advanced, industry-relevant skills in creating music for film, television, games, and digital media. The course proposal has been developed in close consultation with professionals from across the screen industries. The course equips students with the creative, technical, and collaborative tools needed to thrive in today’s fast-evolving media landscape.
Students will explore a wide range of specialist areas, including narrative-driven composition, synchronisation and licensing, sound design, interactive game music, and creative approaches to AI and its continuing development. Through a blend of theoretical exploration and hands-on project work, the course provides a strong foundation in both established and emerging practices, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for diverse roles across the media industries.
The course is delivered across BIMM’s London and Berlin campuses offering international learning experiences while progression from the BIMM University undergraduate courses within the UK will be bolstered by delivery in the creative hubs of Brighton and Manchester. These centres have the experienced professionals and educators to deliver the course, while providing access to state-of-the-art facilities, and all will work in collaboration with their corresponding local Met Film and Met Studios. Industry mentorship and cross-disciplinary collaboration are embedded within the course, enabling students to build professional networks and gain practical insights into real-world workflows.
