You’ll learn to design experiments, analyse complex datasets, and turn discoveries into viable products, all while developing the professional skills employers expect from future‑ready scientists. You’ll develop skills in:
Advanced laboratory techniques (GLP, aseptic technique, flow cytometry, microscopy, mass photometry, NMR). Genetic engineering (e.g., CRISPR concepts), recombinant protein expression & purification. Bioprocess design and scale‑up (microbial and eukaryotic systems). Bioanalytical methods and bioinformatics. Research communication, teamwork and project leadership.
How you will learn Aston's teaching style is modern and innovative, with a hands-on approach that bridges the gap between theory and practice. This enables you to apply your skills as you progress through your course, marrying your learning with practical examples, all designed to prepare you for the world of work.
