Summary
The Master of Public Health (MPH) at ARU London is designed to prepare students for careers focused on improving health and wellbeing at a population level. Centred around the key principles of health protection, health improvement, and service development, the course provides a thorough understanding of the social, economic, environmental, and political factors that influence health outcomes in diverse communities. London’s unique setting offers students a valuable opportunity to study public health issues within a live and varied urban environment.
You will develop core skills in research, critical analysis, leadership, and communication while gaining experience in assessing health needs, planning interventions, and evaluating outcomes. The course explores real-world public health challenges using case studies and applied learning, and incorporates current thinking around sustainability, ethical practice, global citizenship, and inclusive care. With input from public health professionals and sector experts, the course content remains closely aligned with the needs of employers and evolving industry expectations.
The programme includes a final major project where you will apply your learning to a real or simulated public health issue, allowing you to demonstrate your knowledge, practical ability, and strategic thinking. By the end of the course, you will be equipped to pursue a range of roles within local authorities, NHS and international organisations, NGOs, and public policy teams, or to continue your studies in a specialised or management-focused direction.
