UCL’s IOE ranked #1 for a decade in QS World University Rankings by Subject

UCLIOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, has been ranked as ‘world-leading’ for 10 years, having been recognised as first for Education as a subject every year since 2014 by the QS World University Rankings – the world’s most consulted university ranking.

IOE has been at the forefront of teacher education since it was founded in 1902. Today, it is one of the UK’s largest providers of postgraduate initial teacher education, enjoying a fantastic location in the heart of London.

If you are thinking about career in teaching, join UCL’s IOE on Wednesday 8th November, from 4 to 7pm for their Teacher Training Open Event. The evening will provide you with an opportunity to speak to the teaching team, admissions and funding staff and current students, and learn more about Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Further Education PGCEs.

To compile the QS World University subject rankings, QS used five key metrics (including academic reputation, research performance based on citations and impact, and graduate employability) – to help university applicants find the best fit for them in the next stage of their higher education journey.

IOE Director and Dean, Professor Li Wei, says, “To be ranked first in the world in any single year is a tremendous achievement; to be ranked first for 10 years in a row is truly outstanding. This performance reflects the commitment of all IOE colleagues, academic and the professional services staff who support their work, and our students, as well as the impact of our international network of alumni as they put their learning into practice in their workplaces and communities.”
