This course is aimed at registered healthcare professionals working in an acute secondary care setting. The course was designed and validated in conjunction with local employers and aims to develop you academically as well as clinically.
You will be taught by experienced acute and critical care practitioners, some of whom have current and on-going clinical practice. Guest speakers with current clinical expertise will also contribute to the teaching.
You will have opportunity to study with colleagues from other disciplines and specialties and engage in simulation-based learning activities to develop team work and critical understanding.
This course will develop/enhance your life-long learning and prospects of career progression.
This course enables you to study modules that lead to better understanding of assessing and caring for patients with acute, critical and emergency care needs.
The generic material that underpins acute and critical care will be complimented by the opportunity for you to focus your learning on specific areas relevant your own area of practice.
'This course has benefited my practice and provided the knowledge behind some of the courses I have already attended, for example Advanced Life Support. It was well presented and delivered. The supporting materials were readily available on Brightspace and the addition of the reference builder was a huge bonus.' ~ William Lake, Graduated from Acute Care PgCert
