This programme offers an intense introduction to music research, broadly defined.

You will be introduced to a wide range of methodologies and debates in musicology and will develop the critical skills needed to pursue your own research.

You will be taught by leading academics with diverse research interests, including music and film, jazz studies, popular music, fifteenth century music, music analysis, music and politics, opera, music cognition and music instrument research.

The programme allows you to pursue, in greater depth, an area of special interest and to develop specialised skills in researching and writing about music.
