This programme is intended for students who seek training in the theory, history and research practices associated with cultural landscapes.
It provides methodological and conceptual tools essential for contemporary research and affords the opportunity for the in-depth study of a theme that characterises contemporary landscape theory and research practice.
The programme will provide you with a strong theoretical and methodological framework for studying historic and contemporary cultural landscapes. Through a combination of coursework, fieldwork projects and supervised project/dissertation research, you will acquire a breadth of theoretical understanding and rigorous research practices.
The programme is transdisciplinary in its approach, taking into account theories and approaches drawn primarily from visual and material culture studies, cultural geography, anthropology, architectural theory, literature, contemporary art theory and public art practice.
