This course is aligned to current and future needs of professional practice in the construction industry, complemented by the extensive industrial links and staff expertise. As such, its unique points of interest will be its innovative approach to BIM enabled integrated design, use of cutting edge technology, work based and real life project collaboration, learning and flexible modes of delivery. It will enable you to gain knowledge and skills related to advanced aspects of BIM theory, practice and technologies required to deliver better value through integrated design and project collaboration.

Entry requirements

An appropriate undergraduate degree in architecture, construction or the built environment or an equivalent qualification. Applicants whose 1st language is not English will need to hold IELTS 6.5 or above.


Assessment methods used include a combination of coursework and live project collaboration, assignments, exhibitions, graphic and oral presentations.


Modules include: research methods, application and evaluation; BIM and integrated project collaboration; BIM costing, project planning and design management); advanced modelling, customisation and visualisation; BIM and sustainable design analysis; advanced parametric design and specification; project planning, value engineering and risk management; construction contracts and dispute resolution; sustainable architecture and low energy design; negotiated module; independent scholarship (technology).
