This programme aims to offer an outstanding learning experience for students wishing to continue and develop into researchers through a taught MA programme in the field of English Literature.

It is an open and flexible programme designed to give students the possibility of exploring the full diversity of English literature. Modules offer the opportunity to research a diverse range of literary periods and forms from the early modern to contemporary fiction, engaging with genres including historical fiction, fantasy literature, modernism, e-writing, and film.

It also explores a wide range of critical and theoretical approaches, including historical and textual analysis, ethical reading, cognitive poetics, and critical theory.

The University of Chichester is situated in the beautiful county of West Sussex. Our heritage dates back to the 19th Century, when Bishop Otter College was established in 1839. Previously a teaching college, Chichester then became a university.
