Course overview - This course prepares you to rapidly progress your career in an exciting, growing industry. Our course is aimed at both new graduates and industry professionals who wish to broaden and deepen their knowledge in a wide range of mechanical engineering subjects.

  • At present there is a nationwide shortage of skilled Mechanical Engineers, which means that the skills you develop on this course will be in high demand.

  • We’re home to world-class facilities for computational mechanics, tribology, surface engineering and additive manufacturing.

  • Our programme topics include computational mechanics, thermodynamics, materials technology, computer aided design, and engineering simulation.

Further information - You’ll have an opportunity to undertake a professional placement as part of this course. This will extend your study time by six to twelve months depending on the length of the placement. Alternatively, there are opportunities to choose an industry-based project.

  • You’ll be responsible for finding your own placement. We’ll support you in preparation for this with our teams who can help you plan and develop your CV and applications, and undertake practice interviews.
