Summary

The LLM International Business Law is available to students from both a legal and non-legal background. Our students have typically been law graduates, business graduates, legal professionals and people working in commercial fields both nationally and internationally. Within industry international business law is a fast-changing and increasingly complex area.

This postgraduate course provides students with analytical and reflective skills and expertise in international business law. It provides a learning experience which will enable students to develop their academic ability and enhance their performance in employment and further develop their career opportunities. It provides the successful candidate with a recognised postgraduate qualification in International Business Law.

Lancashire Law School has recognised Course Provider (RCP) status from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Students who successfully complete the International Commercial Arbitration module will be eligible for Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, allowing them to use the post-nominal letters ACIArb. This qualification will also allow students to progress further towards qualification as a chartered arbitrator through additional courses that will be offered within the Law School.

Lancashire Law School has achieved an international reputation for its specialisation in Mediation law and practice. Students who successfully complete the International Commercial Mediation module will gain accredited mediator status, as this module is approved by the Civil Mediation Council, the recognised authority in the United Kingdom for civil and commercial mediation.
