The International Accounting and Finance MSc, on offer since the 1960s, encompasses accounting in its international, public and private contexts, corporate financial management, private sector investment and foreign exchange markets.

It aims to give you a deep knowledge of the theoretical and empirical literature that provides the background to understanding changes and innovations in accounting and finance, where you will also acquire a range of skills that can be used to solve real-world problems.

Entry requirements

At least an Upper 2nd class degree or postgraduate diploma from a UK university or equivalent. The degree must be in a relevant subject and applicants must have studied and achieved a mark equivalent to a 2.1 at Bachelor’s level in basic accounting, intermediate accounting, corporate finance and financial management (or equivalent) modules. In addition, applicants should have studied the majority of audit, tax, management/cost accounting, and financial statement analysis modules at Bachelor’s level.




Core modules: financial accounting theory and policy; theory of financial management. Optional modules: foreign exchange and international money markets; management accounting; managing public money; dissertation; empirical topics in accounting and corporate finance; international business taxation; international business finance; international financial statement analysis; public sector accounting; venture capital and entrepreneurial finance; auditing theory and practice.
