Our integrated PhD in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent Artificial Intelligence (ART-AI) will train you to be a "specialist with perspectives”. You'll not only gain AI skills, but a broader understanding of the engineering applications of AI and the ethical, policy and socio-economic consequences of intelligent technologies. You'll combine deep training in a specialism which builds on your background, capabilities and aims, with integrated training across the breadth of disciplines.
Key themes include: transparency and intelligibility of AI, risk and decision making with AI, safety and trust in human-machine systems, policy-making with and for AI, innovation in data-driven and classical AI and engineering applications of AI.
Students on this programme are based in the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent AI (ART-AI) at Bath.
