Summary

This new international two-year MA will provide you with the theoretical, empirical and linguistic knowledge needed to analyse Russian and Eurasian politics and also gives you the opportunity to spend a full year at HSE St Petersburg, carry out an internship, as well as conduct primary research for your Master’s thesis on the ground in Russia.

You will undertake rigorous research methods training, discipline-based and area studies training and intensive language tuition. You will learn to appraise political events and processes critically, solve problems of conflicting sources, use research resources and apply key theories, concepts and methodologies in political and social science, whilst drawing upon knowledge of the politics of the region. 

You will take modules to a total value of 120 ECTS, with 60 ECTS (120 UCL credits) taken in year one at UCL and 60 ECTS taken in year two at HSE St Petersburg.
