London Metropolitan University Public Art Online Lecture 13 April 2021

London Met UniversityLondon Metropolitan University is holding an online lecture on ‘(Re)defining Public Art’ on Tuesday 13th April 2021 as part of its Empowering London lecture series, from 4-5.30pm BST.

This online lecture is a great way to experience postgraduate study at London Met. Dr Jacek Ludwig Scarso – course leader for London Met’s MA in Public Art and Performance – will deliver this taster lecture exploring the changing connotations of "public art". Topics being debated will include:

Is art situated in a public space inherently "public art"? Who decides what the public wants or needs? How is this phrase evolving, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter and Extinction Rebellion? What are the professional opportunities in this area?

This taster lecture will begin at 4pm, after which there will be the opportunity to ask questions and to participate in a group discussion.
