Do you aspire to be the brains behind the money management of major organisations? Our MSc Accounting and Finance can put you on the fast-track; you'll graduate with up to 7 exemptions from the 13 papers required to become a qualified accountant.
This course is designed for graduates of any subject. Many of our students have studied business before, but we also have students from history, music and even Japanese studies.
You'll learn how accounting and finance teams fit into a small, medium or large organization and utilize your soft skills in problem solving, teamwork, and communication to have a rigorous and professional approach to managing important financial data. Our teaching team have worked in industry and academia – they’ve written textbooks, but they’ve also worked for international companies like Unilever.
You can join us for virtual and physical study and listen to guest lecturers from businesses like Harley-Davidson. Also you can get involved in Business Challenge Week where cross-faculty student teams work with local companies to address real-world business challenges.

Our MSc Accounting and Finance balances technical accounting and finance knowledge with practical skills. You are taught in small interactive groups by experts from the professions as well as leading researchers in the field.
Throughout this course, you can:
- gain up to 7 exemptions from the ACCA
- acquire professional and digital skills to prepare you for your career
- develop a thorough understanding of financial and management accounting
- explore how different financial markets, banks and foreign exchange operate
- appreciate broader issues including corporate social responsibility
- engage with our guest speakers such as the Deputy Chair of KPMG and managers from Grant Thornton, ICAEW.
Our students have gone on to work with prestigious global organisations such as PwC, Deloitte, Oxfam, UK Civil Service and Huawei, and have careers such as accountant, auditor, tax official, banking operational officer and financial analyst.
