New scholarship for Ghanaian students available at Liverpool Hope
Liverpool Hope University has got together with the Ghana High Commission to introduce a Scholarship programme to specifically provide Ghanaian students with unique study opportunities in England.
In addition to the existing benefits at Liverpool Hope University provided by the ‘Overseas Scholarship’, the ‘International Postgraduate Scholarship’, and the ‘Commonwealth Shared Scholarship for MA International Perspectives on Education’, all of which are currently on offer to all international students, two further scholarships are now going to be offered.
The ‘High Value Scholarship for Ghana’ is exclusively for Ghanaian students and will provide excellent financial incentives for students wishing to study for a Postgraduate Taught Programme at Liverpool Hope University in the new academic year.
As part of the unique package on offer, the High Value Scholarship for Ghana will allow two Ghanaian students to receive full tuition fees, one for MSc Computer Science, and one for MA International Perspectives on Education to specialise in disability studies. The awards are worth £8,980 and £6,980 respectively.
Professor Bill Chambers, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Widening Participation) says: ‘Liverpool Hope University recognises the importance of its relationship with the government of Ghana, the Ghana High Commission in London, the Merseyside Ghanaian Association and its current and future Ghanaian students. In lieu of this relationship, and the ethos and values of the University, we are delighted to be introducing this new Scholarship to benefit future Ghanaian students.'
Professor Chambers continues, ‘The university has an active interest in Ghana and has a long established relationship with Merseyside Ghanaian Association. We welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with the Ghana High Commission to jointly share the benefits of experience and education with a wider Ghanaian audience.”
The students selected for the High Value Scholarship for Ghana will be selected by the Ghana High Commission and ratified by Liverpool Hope University.
Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland says: ‘We are delighted that Liverpool Hope University is investing in the future of Ghana through the new scholarships. The students selected will be ambassadors for Ghana. They will reap the benefits of UK education and return to our country to make a true difference to our developmental efforts.’
Nancy Cooke, International Recruitment Manager added: ‘Liverpool Hope University has a wealth of interest from Ghanaian students for its postgraduate programmes. Liverpool Hope’s range of scholarships for international students, plus the additional ‘High Value Scholarship - Ghana’ will help a greater number of Ghanaian students to achieve their educational and career ambitions as well as contributing to the wider Ghanaian society.’
Programmes that may be of particular interest to Ghanaian students include:
