Applications open for international masters at Estonian Academy of Arts

Estonian Academy of ArtsApplications are open for the eight international masters degrees available to study at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) from now until Monday 1st March 2021.

The international masters courses are:

Animation
Designed to successfully educate creators of animated films, providing them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills, at the same time encouraging students’ individual approach to filmmaking.

Contemporary Art
A study program for emerging contemporary artists with the main focus of guiding them during the development of their individual artistic practice.

Design & Crafts
An interdisciplinary MA that highlights the importance of seamlessly combining traditional craft to contemporary practices and advanced technologies. Pathways include Ceramics, Glass, Jewellery and Blacksmithing, Textile Design, Accessory Design and Fashion Design.

Graphic Design
A new MA program intended to develop a student’s independent practice and define their position as a graphic designer.

Interaction Design
An international MA that focuses on human interactions with services, products and experiences.

Urban Studies
Focused on contemporary urbanism and combining history, theory and practice to rethink prevailing understandings of urbanisation.

Design & Technology Futures
Joint transdisciplinary program between EKA and TalTech, merging the competences and skills of technology and design.

Literature, Visual Culture & Film Studies
A joint program between EKA and TLU, offering a broadly interdisciplinary study of the relationships between literature, visual culture and film in contemporary and historical contexts.

Estonian Academy of Arts

The international masters programs at EKA are designed for artists and designers with the ambition to develop and enrich their individual practice with cross-disciplinary investigations. EKA encourages bold experimentation, and students are able to take courses and workshops outside of their specialisations. The duration of the international masters courses is two years and they are all taught in the English language.

Applications for these programs for the academic year 2021/22 will be accepted from now until Monday 1st March 2021. The yearly tuition fees range from €1,200 to €3,900, depending on the course.
