University of Kent professor is named a European Young Leader 2018
A professor at the University of Kent has been named in the Friends of Europe list of European Young Leaders 2018. This is a think tank with the purpose of bringing together talented people from different areas of expertise under the age of 40 to tackle international issues.
Professor Matthew Goodwin was described by the leading think tank as “an outward-facing researcher who shares the view that social science should be as much about contributing to wider society as to the social sciences”. He was also applauded for being a political scientist who “has tried to bridge the gap between academia and policy-making when it comes to topics such as radicalisation, extremism and integration.”
Professor Goodwin joined the University of Kent’s School of Politics and International Relations in 2015.
