University of Glasgow achieves five new Athena SWAN awards
The University of Glasgow has achieved five new Athena SWAN awards in recognition of its commitment to gender equality for staff and students.
These new SWAN awards – two Bronze and three Silver – brings the current total of Athena SWAN awards at the University of Glasgow to 23, including its institutional Athena SWAN Bronze Award which it gained in 2013. It is applying for a Silver institutional award in the upcoming assessment round.
The University of Glasgow’s Gender Champion, Professor Jill Morrison, says "The University’s latest Athena Swan awards are a recognition and celebration of the strides the University continues to make in the advancement of gender equality and prioritising support of one of the founding principles of the Athena Swan charter – representation, progression and success for all."
The SWAN awards are made by Advance HE (formerly the Equality Challenge Unit or ECU).
