QMUL offers MSc conversion course in Data Science and AI

QMULQueen Mary, University of London is launching a masters conversion course in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in September 2020.

This innovative MSc in Data Science and AI by conversion course has been created to open up the field of Data Science and AI to students from non-STEM backgrounds.

With funding for this course has been awarded by the UK Office for Students (OfS) as part of an Institute of Coding (IoC) consortium bid to develop new postgraduate conversion courses in AI and Data Science. This funding is also intended to provide scholarships for under-represented students to address the lack of diversity in the AI and data science workforce with QMUL offering three scholarships worth £10,000 each to eligible students over three academic years.

Institute of Coding Project Manager at Queen Mary University of London, Isobel Bates, says, “We are delighted to receive funding from the OfS to create this important new program and offer an opportunity for a more diverse group of learners to gain essential digital skills, who will in turn address the needs of our future work place and society. We actively encourage female, black and disabled graduates, learners who are under-represented in AI and data science, to apply for our conversion program at Queen Mary University of London and consider a future in this area."

The deadline for September entry on the MSc in Data Science and AI by conversion course is Thursday 20th August 2020 for September entry; Thursday 12th November for January 2021 entry.
