Hollywood star visits MetFilm School inspiring film and drama students
Hollywood actor, Jack O'Connell – known for his roles in Money Monster, Godless, Unbroken and Skins – visited MetFilm School in January to speak to students about acting and the industry, as well as to offer a master class in his craft.
Jack O’Connell gave advice and encouragement to the MetFilm students, advising them to, “Keep knocking on the door and take every opportunity you can to work with other professionals.” As well as this important advice he also spoke about his own acting experience, saying, “The best experiences I have with acting today is when I feel loose with it. To do a ‘take’ one way, and then try something new in the next without feeling self-conscious. If you don’t get your performance to where you want it to be, there’s always an alternative. Just try to make it authentic and true.”
MetFilm School is based at the world-renowned Ealing Studios in the heart of West London, and Jack was obviously impressed by the facilities and opportunities offered by the School. During his time there he also explained to the students what it is really like to be an actor, speaking from the heart! He explained, “The life of an actor is quite a nomadic one. I’ve been quite tempted to get a caravan!”
