Coventry University ranked 4th worldwide for online courses
Coventry University has been placed the fourth best university worldwide for online programs in a recently published prestigious rankings.
The first global university rankings specifically for online courses – MoocLab’s World University Rankings by MOOC Performance (WURMP) – ranked Coventry University in the top 10 for its online provisions, placing the university amongst many of the world’s leading institutions including Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Speaking about this fantastic achievement, Vice Chancellor of Coventry University, Professor John Latham CBE enthuses, “We are hugely proud to have been ranked fourth in the first ever World University Rankings based on MOOC performance. Having only been in the market for two years, we have outperformed many other well-established brands both within the UK and internationally, and this is testament to the hard work of our colleagues across the business and broader university. We are still in our infancy, but we will grow our proposition significantly, leading the transformation of the global online education market.”
MOOCs – or Massive Open Online Courses – are becoming increasingly popular, and Coventry University established Coventry University Online to deliver its distance learning education, and partnered with FutureLearn to deliver online courses and degrees in 2017. Today, Coventry University’s portfolio of 15 online degree courses consists of mainly postgraduate courses across business, health and engineering disciplines.
MoocLab’s World University Rankings feauture more than 200 universities worldwide, and Coventry University is the only UK institution to be featured in the top 10.
