60 academic posts announced at University of Aberdeen
The University of Aberdeen is recruiting academics at all levels from lecturers to professors across academic areas, including energy, environment, health, data, artificial intelligence, humanities and law. These posts support the foundational purpose of the University of Aberdeen which is “Open to all and dedicated to the pursuit of truth in the service of others.” (Bishop Elphinstone, 1495).
The academic posts are an exciting new addition to the PhD opportunities at the new National Decommissioning Centre and several other scholarships and PhD opportunities across multi-disciplinary areas. These areas include: research to understand pathogens; wildfire impacts on biodiversity; offshore, sustainable energy and marine environment; the mathematics behind neural brain networks; pharmaceutical innovation from the natural environment; structured machine learning; and many more opportunities.
Programs which tap into innovation needs globally include disciplines which cut across wider bio-business skills and knowledge including: stratified medical innovation; new customised pharmaceutical development; artificial intelligence applications; nutrition as a medicine and to prevent and understand disease; environmental management on land, water, air and within the energy industry; and decommissioning, energy production and economics. These disciplines are supported by professional areas, which focus on commercialising and managing innovation such as international trade law, intellectual property law, strategic studies and management, finance and investment management, international business management and many more international disciplines. Many dual disciplines provide deeper levels of analysis and assessment of business risk and management globally or allow for research to feed enterprise and innovation.
