Our MRes research projects take advantage of the extensive links with community bodies and professional sport organisations. Such collaborations contribute to our students’ subject expertise and broader transferable skills. This programme therefore allows you to develop competencies as an independent learner and researcher in a specific field. The MRes Human Sciences provides a strong foundation for career progression and further study, for example, a PhD. More generally, it will develop skills valued by employers, such as high level organisational skills, independent research skills, advanced oral and written communication, collaborative project work and problem solving. The health routes are useful for professionals in health, health sciences or social care in order to advance clinical research skills.

For projects within our health discipline, we can offer support within research covering a variety of different topics. The MRes Public Health involves research at population or community level and we support you to undertake research into local, national or international communities.

Your own research proposals are welcome. In addition, there are a range of projects available upon enquiry with appropriate staff.

Before applying for the MRes programme you will need to contact a potential supervisor, for further details please visit the course page on the university
