LJMU's Advanced Paediatric and Neonatal Practice MSc develops Advanced Practitioners to work in the NHS.
- Develop as an autonomous, reflective advanced practitioner in neonatal, acute paediatric or paediatric ambulatory care
- Use advanced levels of knowledge to systematically to respond to complex challenges
- Enjoy a dynamic learning environment enabling you to meet challenges flexibly and creatively to become a proficient practitioner
- Gain skills to assess, diagnose and manage the variety of minor injuries, illnesses and paediatric emergencies that commonly present in neonatal, acute paediatric or paediatric ambulatory care settings
Advanced Practitioners are registered healthcare professionals who have taken on additional intensive training and mentorship to enable them to extend their role in the assessment, treatment and care of neonates, infants, children and young people. They may work in accident and emergency departments, walk-in centres, acute hospital settings or specialist units.
The programme is unique in providing an advanced practice programme specifically focused on the needs of those working in this area. It has three specialist pathways to choose from: Neonatal, Acute Paediatric Care and Ambulatory Care.

You will need:
a minimum 2:2 honours degree in a relevant field
evidence of potential to study at Masters level
registration as a health professional (nursing, allied health or medicine) or Physician Associate
IELTS 6.5 (minimum 5.5 in each component)
