**About this course**
This course explores the question of how finance helps or hinders, stable economic activity and sustainable development.
You will develop tools, concepts and models from pluralist economic analysis, and apply these to gain an understanding of the differences between financial systems and the power and pitfalls of global financial capitalism.
In addition to macro and micro economics, you will learn about the history of economic thought and critically discuss contemporary issues. You will develop quantitative and qualitative skills for research, including econometric analysis and process tracing for case studies, to use in your dissertation, under the guidance and supervision of a specialist in the field.
