**About this course**
The course explores the emergence and globalisation of capitalism from a range of theoretical perspectives. You will study neo-classical, post-Keynesian, Marxist and Institutionalist theories, and apply them to contemporary issues of austerity, monetary policy, neo-liberalism, financialisation and globalisation.
You will develop an understanding of the analysis and research used in the study of international economics, in the contexts of finance, industry, trade and labour and developing countries.
For your dissertation, you will focus on an applied economic policy topic, supported individually by a member of staff. This can showcase your skills to employers.

**Career opportunities**
You will graduate prepared for roles in government agencies, think-tanks, research institutes or in international agencies such as the International Labor Organization.
