MSc Management: The Course
A master’s course defined by its social awareness and global outlook, the Management MSc has been designed with a close eye on the international graduate job market, and its innovative thinking focusses on developing academically strong, motivated and ambitious candidates, who aspire to a high-profile career in a Fortune 500 business. This is a conversion course, therefore applicants will be considered from any discipline, not just business.

Course Structure
The first half of the course is designed to equip you with thorough knowledge of management practice and theory. Learning will be focussed around areas such as organisational theory and practice, organisation behaviour, human resource management, marketing, operations as well as accounting and finance.

The second half of the course will expand the core themes and focus on the practical business skills employers look for, all useful to help you stand out from the crowd and succeed at a job interview.  You’ll take part in projects designed in collaboration with industry professionals, and the added options of a placement opportunity and dedicated capstone modules will allow you to feed your ambition and display your professional potential.

Placement Option
A 15-month placement version of the programme will allow you to put your knowledge into practice, enrich your CV and continue your learning on-the-job. We provide support and guidance to help you secure a relevant placement, as well as access to a vacancy portal which advertises a variety of placement opportunities each year.

Capstone Project
The Capstone Project module is a core component of the programme, the year- long module requires the completion of a major applied research project allowing you to integrate and synthesise your learning. The project includes taught element and one-to-one supervision in semester two, through to the completion of the research project.

International Study Trip
To further apply your knowledge, you can choose to take part in an International Study Trip, this module integrates learning from the curriculum and creates an opportunity to study an in depth aspect of business and management relevant to the host location. This module is a collaborative project in which you will conduct background research, engage with a client organisation, collect, analyse and interpret relevant data to provide evidence based solutions to a real business challenge set by the organisation.
