The School of Arts and Social Sciences at City is a cosmopolitan, outward-looking, internationally-excellent centre of research and learning on the human condition in all of its dimensions. Ours is a large and vibrant school with around 3,000 students (one third postgraduate) and 250 staff currently organised in seven academic departments:

Our staff are highly regarded in their fields, with many contributing to the academic and public discussions through articles, conferences, media commentary and research. The School also advises the UK Government, the EU and international organisations through collaborations and consultancy work.

City, University of London has been providing outstanding education in Journalism, Music and Creative Industries for over 40 years and have a thriving alumni network that keeps in touch and allows our students opportunities to network professionally.

Our Psychology department was one of only 13 UK Universities to make it into the Times Higher Education World Rankings for Psychology 2018. Our departments of Economics and International Politics have a great reputation with industries and are highly active in their research.
