City’s MSc Advanced Ophthalmic Nurse Practitioner is a flexible, professionally orientated programme, designed for registered nurses working in ophthalmic health or caring for people who are experiencing vision loss. It is for staff nurses and nurse managers, as well as those seeking a career in nursing or health research.

This programme provides ophthalmic nurses with up-to-date research-based and theoretical knowledge of a wide range of ophthalmic fields. Students will complete the non-medical prescribing programme in addition to ophthalmic-related modules which will further enhance their prescribing competence.

The degree also develops research and critical thinking skills and provides the opportunity to conduct a research project under expert supervision, laying the foundations for independent practice and research in the future. This provides you with the opportunity to create a challenging and rewarding Master's programme tailored to nursing ophthalmic care.
